RESET retreat * 13-15 Jun
Who can take these classes?
Anyone looking for good posture, strength, and flexibility, and to feel more energetic in their daily life. Both amateur and professional athletes are doing these classes.
Is this Barre?
This might look like Barre because of ballet inspiration, but in fact, it's very different. Ballerina Body is a mix of techniques with a focus on ballet, with a much slower pace for you to be able to correct yourself. (Yes, I want you to be autonomous!)
Do I need to know ballet to do these classes?
No! No previous knowledge of any dance technique is necessary.
What should I wear?
Bring comfortable clothes, but fitted to the body, for example, leggings, tops, socks, or even ballet equipment (maillot, tights, ballet shoes).
Why don't you use mirrors?
It is true that the mirror is an aid in the self-correction of posture and alignment, but it can become a crutch. For us, it is much more important that you develop body awareness without the visual dependence that the mirror offers. It takes longer, but it is a learning experience that lasts a lifetime outside of class and for the rest of your life!
I am pregnant, is it advisable to take these classes?
There is no problem. Most of the exercises are sur place (they don't go through the space) and there are no jumps. If there is, in your class, any exercise that is not suitable, the teacher will advise you not to do it or the exercise is adapted to your condition. Post-breakfasts are also welcome. In any case, it is always advisable to talk to your doctor.
I have a back/knee problem / etc., can I do these classes?
You should inform your teacher first. As long as it doesn't make it difficult for you to stay in these classes, we don't see any inconvenience. The exercises can be slightly adapted to your condition. If you want to complement the physiotherapy that you are doing, it is advisable that the classes are individual and in dialogue with the physiotherapist.
I don't have a regular timetable, what should I do?
Talk to your teacher to find a solution. You always have the option of individual training or a package of individual classes.
Is this class only for women?
This class is for everyone! Men are very welcome. Don't let the name fool you.
I am 50 years old and have never done dance. Is this class for me?
It's never too late to start taking care of yourself. The teacher has been teaching regularly to various age groups. The great dancer and choreographer Martha Graham was active until she was 90!
What are the individual Ballerina Body sessions like?
They are classes dedicated to the specific body of each one. To you!
We all have some recurring aches and pains, and we have heard of compensations. This is due to movement patterns we have developed throughout life that are not the best. With these classes, we can improve or even correct those patterns using the exercises that are best for you!
What about online classes?
They are for those who can't make it to the studio or are simply a fan of exercising at home!
Is there any feedback I can read?
Sure. You can take a look at the home page, and also here.
